Graduation Adds Overflow Capacity
3/28/2014

2013 UST Graduate with Diploma

Update (4/14/14):

University of St. Thomas graduates may invite additional family and friends to the Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. on May 17, 2014, with the addition of an Overflow Pavilion next to Reliant Arena, which requires tickets this year.

Students still have access to a limited number of tickets for seating in Reliant Arena, but the overflow venue will be open to guests who do not have tickets for seating in the Arena. The deadline to pickup Reliant Arena tickets is May 3. See details below.

The Overflow Pavilion is adjacent to the Arena and will feature a live-stream video of the ceremony. Guests should enter at the Reliant Arena entrance, and there will be volunteers and signs directing guests to the Pavilion area.

UST Registrar Kim Sanders said the additional venue was added in response to students’ requests to invite more friends and family to attend the event.

“We heard you and we listened,” Sanders said. “We’ve added an overflow space based on the survey of graduates, who said they wanted to invite additional guests outside the allotted six tickets. We know this is an exciting time for graduates and their family. While space is still limited in Reliant Arena, we would like to extend an invitation for guests to celebrate graduates by watching the event live nearby.”

There is no charge for tickets to Commencement in Reliant Arena or for access to the Overflow Pavilion.
