CFC Houses Scholar in Residence
11/8/2007
Dr. John F. Wilson has been appointed as a Scholar in Residence in the University of St. Thomas Center for Faith and Culture. Wilson retired from the University of Houston as assistant research professor of physics and director of Educational Outreach for the physics department. He has also taught as an adjunct professor of physics at UST.
As a Scholar in Residence, Wilson will be involved with both research and publication. He will be responsible for networking with and fostering dialogue among scientists and academicians on the subject of faith and culture, as well as with other persons and entities within UST and other Houston universities. Wilson will also develop conferences and symposiums with scientists, philosophers and theologians to be held at UST on the subject of faith and culture.
Wilson said: “It is extremely important for the Church to respond to questions raised in the culture regarding faith particularly from science, I love the UST Thomistic community and consider this appointment an enormous honor, and it fits well with other work that I’m pursuing with the Polycarp Society in the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.”
