"The Year of Faith:
Lukan Modus Operandi and Secularization"
The year of faith (Oct. 11, 2012 – Nov. 24, 2013) was declared by Pope Benedict XVI with the apostolic letter Porta Fidei. In this address, Pope Benedict is asking for a renewal of the Christian Faith in our modern world. The deepening of faith must be done by knowing its reasons and fundaments according to the revelation contained in the Scripture that is protected and interpreted by the Tradition and the Magisterium.
The initiative of Benedict XVI is tightly connected with his apostolic letter Ubiqumque et Semper, in which the Pope sees the need to go back to the Christian sources of the faith threatened by a growing secularization. In this matter, both documents concur with the need of rediscovering the biblical message in order to propose it as a valid platform of intercultural dialogue today. Subsequently, this presentation intends to demonstrate that the Lukan modus operandi of evangelization is still an actual and valid methodology to tackle a hostile culture that denies God.
