UST ACS Chapter Receives Outstanding Ranking, Green Chemistry Award
10/6/2009
The American Chemical Society (ACS) has awarded the University of St. Thomas Student ACS Chapter "Outstanding" status for the third time, and a Green Chemistry Award. Less than five percent of the 980 chapters in the United States and Puerto Rico were awarded this highest ranking.
The Chapter will be listed in an upcoming issue of Chemical and Engineering News, the Society’s official news magazine and in in Chemistry, the Student magazine.
The Chapter is invited to present a poster at the 239th National Meeting and Exposition to be held in San Francisco, March 21-25, 2010, and will be honored at a ceremony on March 21. The UST Chapter has achieved an award every year since 2000, and this is the third time it has achieved the highest ranking award. This is the Chapter’s first Green Chemistry Award.
The award plaques will be displayed on the second floor of Robertson along with the plaques from previous years. Dr. Thomas Malloy is the Faculty Advisor for the Chapter.
