Nurses and the Power Within Conference

 The Institute for Spirituality and Health will host a conference for nurses and other health care professionals entitled “Nurses and the Power Within,” at 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Fondren Hall, 5510 Main Street.
The conference speakers include:
Janet F. Quinn, PhD, RN, FAAN
Associate Professor (adjunct) at the University of Colorado School of Nursing.
Touching body, Tending Soul: Healing, Caring and the Recovery of the Sacred in Nursing Practice.
Gwen Sherwood, PhD, RN, FAAN
Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing
Reflective Leadership: Healthy Environments to Transform Health Care Outcomes
The conference is cosponsored by University of St. Thomas Office of Nursing Program Development, University of Texas School of Nursing, Prairie View A&M University College of Nursing, Texas Women’s University School of Nursing and University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The conference is funded by a grant from the John P. McGovern Foundation.
