Lauren Poe Breaks UST Volleyball Record

 The Lady Celts Volleyball Team improved it record to 10-3 after splitting two matches this weekend at home. On Friday, Sept. 17, the Lady Celts lost to Wiley College in 5 sets, 22-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-21, 8-15. The Lady Celts had four players with double digit kills, led by 19 kills from Lauren Poe. Courtney Johnson added 12 kills followed by Mallory Wendel and Casey Mulryan with 11 per player. It was a record-breaking night for Lauren Poe, a senior outside hitter. She became the first Lady Celt Volleyball player to accumulate 1,000 kills for her career.
On Saturday, Sept. 18, the Lady Celts finished with a 3-0 victory over Texas College in three sets, 25-8, 25-6, 25-9. The team had an impressive .494 hitting percentage for the match. The offense was led by Casey Mulryan and Mallory Wendel with 13 and 11 kills respectively. Brittany Downs led the way again on defense with 15 digs.
