Krustchinsky Honored by Texas Association of Teacher Educators

 Dr. Rick Krustchinsky, chair of the University of St. Thomas School of Education, was recently presented the 2010 Ben E. Coody Award by the Texas Association for Teacher Educators.
The Ben E. Coody Award is given annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to teacher education in Texas. It is given in memory of Dr. Coody, who served as the last president of the Texas Association for Student Teaching, now known as the Texas Association of Teacher Educations. Coody was respected for his high code of ethics, his professional zeal, and his sincerity of purpose.
Krustchinsky received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University, and his doctorate from the University of Southern Missouri. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of education, during which time he as been an active member of the Texas Association of Teacher Educators. He has served as a long-standing board member and was president of the organization in the mid 2000’s. For 17 years he served as a Texas Director of Field Experiences, and has travelled thousands of miles to study the art and science of teaching. His travels have included nine trips to England where he worked with student teachers and graduate students to compare the U.S. education system to that in England.
