10/18/2011
Home sweet home! The Celts returned to Houston and put on a show for their fans exploding for a 5-1 win over University of the Southwest (N.M.) on Thursday, Oct. 13.

The Mustangs put up a tough fight for the first 45 minutes of the Red River Athletic Conference match, holding the Celts to a 2-1 lead going into halftime. Senior Rafael Bustos scored both goals for UST in the first half finishing passes from Nick Boras and Jeuel Ventura.

The Celts continued to push forward during the second 45 minutes and found the net three more times. Irving Escobedo put the Celts up 3-1 with a great bit of individual skill. After receiving a pass from senior Asayat Camarena, Escobedo juggled the ball over two Mustang defenders before volleying the ball into the back of the net.
Senior Nick Boras scored two more goals to finish off the game, giving him three goals in the last four games. Senior goalkeeper John Ruff played well in the net with his first career start and got the win for the Celts.

The game put the Celts at 4-3 in conference play and 4-6-1 on the year.
