Celts Host 2-Mile Fun Run
9/25/2012
The University of St. Thomas Residence Life Staff, in collaboration with the UST Running Club and the Student Government Association, will host the inaugural Celt Challenge: Run and Field Games Day on Sept. 29. The first ResLife sponsored area-wide event of the semester, Celt Challenge provides a break from a busy semester and an opportunity for students to enjoy the cool fall weather.
“With the academic course load being as heavy as it is, it is easy for students to get locked up indoors for days on end,” said Elena Petre, a resident assistant and event coordinator. “The Celt Challenge Run and Field Games Day is a chance for UST students to go outdoors and have fun with their peers in a semi-competitive and physically-active atmosphere.”
Celt Challenge will include a 2-mile fun run with obstacles around campus, as well as field events including tug-of-war and three-legged races. Snacks and music will be provided and there will be prizes awarded to the winners.
The event is free and open to the UST community; however, the donation of a pair lightly-worn shoes is encouraged.
