Kylah DiasThe University of St. Thomas women’s volleyball team came away with another win against Bacone College 3-0 with sets 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19 on Sept. 29. The win put the Celts at 4-1 in conference play and 13-8 overall.

Brittany Weiler dished out 23 assists, three kills and six digs on the afternoon. Stephanie Biediger led the offense with 12 kills, and Kirsten Kubicek had nine kills. Sophomore Kylah Dias finished with eight kills on 13 attempts with no hitting errors. She also had three service aces on the day. Shirley Paul finished with a team best of 10 digs.

“Kylah is really playing well for us,” said Noble. “The connection that she has with Brittany just continues to improve each week.”

Head Coach Kallie Noble also coached with no shoes during the game to support the Samaritan’s Feet Barefoot Coaching Movement, which provides shoes and awareness for impoverished children. Fans can still donate to Samaritan’s Feet by visiting the donation web page created for UST volleyball by Oct. 2. With a donation, an impoverished child will be given a new pair of athletic shoes.

St. Thomas returns to action to face Southwestern Assemblies of God at 1 p.m. on Oct. 6 at Jerabeck Gym. For practice updates, follow the Celts on Twitter, @USTVolleyball12, or Like them on Facebook.
