Moving down to fifth in the
Red River Athletic Conference, the University of St. Thomas
women's basketball team lost 110-78 to the Our Lady of the Lake University Saints on Nov. 29 in San Antonio, Texas. The Celts started strong, but a barrage of 3-pointers by OLLU created a gap the team could not overcome.
"I thought we gave great effort," said
Head Coach Mike Ricks. "Unfortunately we turned the ball over and got out rebounded. Against a team like Our Lady of the Lake, you can't get away with mistakes like that."
Leading the way for the Celts was
Amber Arceneaux-Francis with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Maghen Lormand added 15 while
Hershiira Boone-Rodgers and
Emily Sebo both chipped in 11 points apiece.
Next up for the Celts is a home game against Texas College on Dec. 1. Opening tip for the conference matchup is set for 2 p.m.
