Celts Volleyball Signs Erwin
12/12/2012
Emily ErwinThe University of St. Thomas Celts signed Emily Erwin of Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas, to the women’s volleyball team.

Erwin is a 5-foot-7-inch outside hitter and defense specialist. In her senior season at Kempner, she was named MVP and was Academic All-District and selected to the Second All-District Team.

Volleyball Head Coach Kallie Noble said Erwin will make an immediate impact for the Celts next season.

“She is a very smart player and has had really great training over the years,” Noble said. “She always finds ways to score and will be a great addition to our program and the University of St. Thomas.”

Erwin also currently plays club volleyball for Willowbrook Sports Complex.

St. Thomas finished up the season at 19-17 and was the runner up in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament. UST lost in the opening round of the 2012 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Tournament. The Celts also had four players named as 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.
