UST School of Theology Celebrates Opening Mass

 The University of St. Thomas School of Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary began a new semester with the help of Archbishop Daniel DiNardo, who joined in the celebration of this year’s Opening Mass.
During his homily, Archbishop DiNardo articulated the School’s mission of declaring the Word for all to hear, as is echoed in Romans 10:9-17. He also discussed the importance of the intellectual formation for all students preparing for ministry in the Church.
“We have been reflecting on Romans 10:9-17,” Fr. Brendan of St. Mary’s Seminary, said. “Our mission is that everyone hears the Word proclaimed. Archbishop DiNardo’s homily was a great expression of that mission.”
This year, 83 seminarians, 99 men preparing for ordination to the permanent diaconate and more than 100 lay graduate students will continue to pursue their theological education in the Roman Catholic tradition, while 50 plus non-degree seeking students will take courses for spiritual and intellectual enrichment.
