Cameron Alumni Share Workplace Experiences
9/26/2007
A group of University of St. Thomas Alumni returned to the Cameron School of Business, Tuesday, Sept. 25, to talk to current UST students about working in the accounting field.
The four alumni members work for the public accounting firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers. They include: Burton Cole, senior manager; Carisma Robertson, manager; Lauren VerBerkmoes, associate; and Emily Ramsey, experienced associate.
The group shared their personal experiences about working at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, as well as addressed common misconceptions about the field of public accounting. The program also included information on spring internships, as well as, tips on how interested students can break into the field of public accounting.
"In addition to PWC, other accounting firms that actively recruit at UST for internships and associate positions include Melton and Melton, LLP, Harper and Pearson Company, PC, Malone and Bailey, PC, Null-Lairson, PC, and Broussard Partners and Associates, to name a few," said Lindsey Guthman, associate director of Career Services and Testing Center.
“The University is fortunate to have such dedicated alumni that give their time, energy, and shared experiences back to the University and the Cameron School of Business,” said Bill Ivins, director of Graduate Business Programs.
