Celebrate Teaching
10/5/2007
The University of St. Thomas School of Education hosted the 10th annual Celebrate Teaching Mini-Conference, Thursday, Oct. 4. More than 200 juniors and seniors from 11 local public and private high schools attended the event. All of the students were members of their individual school’s future teacher clubs.
“The conference was designed to stimulate interest in the teaching profession by showing high school students how to prepare themselves for a career in education,” said Terry Brandt, associate professor of Education and conference coordinator.
Students watched inspirational films about teaching, listened to motivational talks, and participated in activities designed to help them view teaching as a profession that deserves celebration. In addition, participants met with current School of Education students, as well as, toured the UST campus.
