University of St. Thomas Announces New Executive Marketing Director
The University of St. Thomas has hired Vickie Alleman to be the University’s new Executive Director of Marketing. Her first day on the job was Nov. 29.
“I look forward to working with such high caliber professionals in higher education and creating a higher level of awareness of UST among high school students, their parents and anyone who wants to continue their education at the graduate level,” said Alleman. “I feel that UST has untapped potential. By creating this position, UST is acknowledging the importance of communicating the message of excellence in education to a wider audience.”
The Executive Director of Marketing is a newly created position for the UST campus. Alleman was selected in a national search. As Executive Director of Marketing, she will be responsible for raising the profile of the University across Houston and the state of Texas. Her focus will be on enrollment and Alleman will be working with Admissions, the Deans and Faculty to increase awareness of specific educational programs offered at UST.
“We are very pleased that Vickie Alleman has joined the University of St. Thomas community as the Executive Director of Marketing,” said Dr. Robert Ivany, UST President. “She will be responsible for the development and execution of a marketing strategy. We are fortunate to have someone with her experience and enthusiasm.”
Alleman is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She graduated with a B.A. in Journalism. She has an extensive career in marketing and public relations having worked at companies such as Tenet Healthcare, Horne CPA/Healthcare Group, Alliance Radiology, Practice Enhancement Associates and HCA Belle Park Hospital. Most recently, she worked as Regional Marketing Manager at Smith & Nephew, Inc. where she worked directly with surgeons and hospitals to promote technology and target demographic niches locally.
“UST’s reputation as a great university attracted me to the campus. I was impressed with the level of expertise among the faculty and the enthusiasm they have about the school,” said Alleman.
Alleman will be located in Welder Hall, Room 205. She can be reached at 713-942-3466 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
