5/12/2008

Founder, visionary and cornerstone of the institution – the University of St. Thomas Center for Thomistic Studies owes a great debt of gratitude to the Rev.Victor Brezik, CSB. On the occasion of his 95th birthday, the Center for Thomistic Studies honored him with a special Mass at the Chapel at St. Basil and reception in Ahern Hall on Friday, May 2.
Faculty, staff, students and friends gathered to toast and reminisce with Fr. Brezik. He was thanked for his countless contributions to the University. A member of the UST faculty since 1954, the co-founder of the Center for Thomistic Studies, and UST oldest living scholar, Fr. Brezik has many stories to share. In a mini-memoir entitled “Remembering Ninety Five Years – A Partial Synopsis,” Fr. Brezik gives an account not only of his life, but some seldom-told history of the University.
