Student Affairs Accepting Applications for Student Graduation Speakers

The Office of Student Affairs will accept applications for student commencement speaker until Friday, March 27 at 5 p.m.

This speaker will represent the student body by sharing his or her UST experience, offering his or her vision for the future, or simply giving words of encouragement and motivation.

All interested students should prepare a five-minute speech, and submit the following information to Patricia McKinley, interim vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students. Her office is located on the 2nd floor of the Crooker Center:

• Full Name
• An outline of the five-minute speech (outline should be no longer than two pages)
• Major
• Phone number
• E-mail address
• Home mailing address
• Activities in which you have participated
• Honors you have received

Students have the option of submitting these materials in hardcopy, or electronically at http://studentaffairs@stthom.edu with the subject “Student Speaker.”

A committee will conduct an initial screening and then interview finalists between Monday, March 30, and Monday, April 6. A single speaker and an alternate are expected to be selected by Tuesday, April 7.
