UST Celebrates A Year of Leadership
4/27/2009
The seventh annual Leadership Banquet, “Celebrating the Stars of UST,” was held Sunday, April 26 in Jerabeck Center to celebrate a year of student leadership and achievement. This year’s Presidential award went to Amanda Ingersoll, a marketing major; Misbah Khatri, a biology major, received the Marsha A. Wooldridge Citizenship Award; Nicole Hickl, a communication major, received the Emerging Leader Award.
“The leadership banquet recognized many student groups and student leaders for their hard work in making UST feel like a home away from home,” said Angie Montelongo, assistant director of Student Activities. “Approximately 160 people were in attendance and we were blessed that so many family and friends joined in the celebration. The event continues to grow and allows us to thank our students, faculty and staff advisors and families for their dedication to each organization on campus. This event captures the essence of UST in developing leaders of faith and character.”
Recipients were nominated by their peers, faculty and staff and were reviewed by a special selection committee. Also recognized at the ceremony were the presidents of UST academic clubs, student organizations, sports clubs and residence life staff.
