New Chief to Lead University Police
The University of St. Thomas named James Tate as chief of University Police on Feb. 24. Tate replaces Daryl Bissett who held the position of chief of Security for six years.
For 25 years, Wednesdays in Lent have been highlighted by a series of lectures at the University of St. Thomas. This year’s theme, “Challenges to the Catholic Church,” enriches the understanding of the many facets of the Catholic Church.
The University of St. Thomas welcomes Dan Bolger as Coordinator of Residence Life. Bolger, a psychology graduate of John Brown University in Arkansas, joins the Office of Residence Life team after spending three months in Shenyang, China, teaching English classes at Liaoyang University.
UST Goes Green For St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day has been observed and celebrated in Ireland for over 1000 years. This celebration commemorates the life of St. Patrick and his extension of Christianity in Ireland as well as highlights Irish culture and heritage.
Since 1908 philosophers have been puzzling over the “problem of love in Thomas Aquinas.” The problem lies in Aquinas’ thought that happiness is the reason we do all that we do. That is, loving others is really for our own sake. Yet, he still claims we can love others for their own sake.
Doing Sleep Right
This workshop will discuss how lack of sleep affects the body and mind. It will teach sleep schedule strategies to improve one's quality of sleep and brain effectiveness.

Wind Ensemble Concert
