Meaning of History in Our Faith
Tuesday, March 12, 2013 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The UST Theology Department, Center for Faith & Culture and Center for Thomistic Studies present “Meaning of History in our Faith” with Rev. Hernan Pereda Bullrich C.P.C.R., at 7 p.m. March 12 in Old Bookstore, Crooker Center.

Fr. Pereda will discuss:
· What happened to pre-Christian civilizations
· What Jesus Christ’s case in the history of humanity represents
· Circular and linear history in the 2,000 years of Christianity
· Two great exceptions of history: the Jewish and the Phoenicians civilizations

Fr. Hernan Pereda Bullrich C.P.C.R. is an Argentine priest who is a member of the Congregation of the ‘Cooperadores Parroquiales de Cristo Rey’ (C.P.C.R.) in Spain. C.P.C.R. was founded by Father Francisco de Paula Vallet, initially Jesuit from Barcelona, and started the congregation in the diocese of Valence in France.

Fr. Pereda holds a degree in Dogmatic Theology and Spirituality from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He also holds a Master in Religious Communication and Information.

The pastoral activity of Fr. Pereda has focused on the Spiritual Exercises by St. Ignatius method, especially for men. In this general context, Fr. Pereda has worked in the preparation and Christian perseverance of pastoral production materials for unskilled agents. Thus, it becomes possible multiplier activity in regions that do not have access to specialists.

Fr. Pereda has written extensively on the history of salvation, the Ministry of Adults and Christian anthropology. Among his works include the so-called "histograms" on biblical history and Christianity, which are time lines to facilitate the understanding of the history of salvation, which has been published in six languages. He also is the author of The Sense of History.
