Cutting-Edge Instructional Technologies
Friday, March 15, 2013 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The School Of Education Presents "Cutting-Edge Instructional Technologies and Rapid Development Of Mobile Learning," with Youmei Liu, Ed.D. at 9 a.m., Friday, March 15 in Malloy Boardroom.
With an increased demand for higher education and limited financial budgets, more and more schools are integrating instructional technology and using online resources to reduce the cost of education and meet the needs of society. There is no doubt that the rapid development of new technologies has brought significant change to the process of education. Online learning has become one of the important channels to reach out to students without any boundaries; web 2.0 social media tools have created an incredible social network that offers students a collaborative and interactive learning environment; and the advent of mobile devices has bestowed freedom to education—a dynamic learning experience from anywhere at any time. But at the same time, technology has complicated the process of teaching and learning, and brought challenges to the users.
1) This session will focus on the discussion of:
1) Effective uses of instructional technology in course design and delivery from the learner’s perspective
2) Successful utilization of existing online resources and web 2.0 social media tools to increase educational efficiency
3) Innovative use of the iPad to create a dynamic learning environment. The session will also share the best practices of using instructional technology based on the research in higher education.
Refreshments will be served.
