Host and guest protocol in a business meal is a piece of cake.  When it comes to ordering, the guest orders first and the host orders last. In all else, the guest follows the host's lead.  The host, the person who issues the invitation to the meal, tells the guest where to sit. The host places the napkin in his or her own lap and the guest follows suit. The host pays the check and the guest avoids a surreptitious side glance to see how much tip the host is leaving.
