How to Apply for Financial Aid

All eligible students may apply for financial aid by filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This may be done online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA must be submitted every year and is available January 1st of every year. Once submitted, the Department of Education will process your FAFSA and forward the information on to our office. Please note that this process of "forwarding" the information to our office can take up to 4-9 business days. Once we receive your FAFSA results, and if eligible for aid, our office may respond with one or more of the following:

An Award Package (including your Award Letter and additional instructions)
A request for additional eligibility documentation what is this?
A request for verification Information what is this?

Important Information

In order for your FAFSA information to be received by us, you must include UST’s school code of 003654.
In order for UST's Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to process your FAFSA information, you must be formally admitted to UST.
January 1st– First day to complete and submit the FAFSA. Applying early can ensure availability of grant monies, if eligible.
April 15th – Priority deadline for completing your financial aid application file (all requested documentation submitted to our office). Please note: You may still submit the FAFSA after the priority deadline. However, submitting your information by this priority deadline will ensure faster processing.
November 1st – Priority deadline for Spring application
Continuing students that have completed the FAFSA will be awarded in the spring, prior to the end of the spring semester.
