Cassandra Smith - Honors Graduate of 2004
“The Honors Program was by far my best UST experience and I want to thank my fellow classmates and professors for all that they taught me.”
Born and raised in Houston, St. Thomas was a familiar name to Cassandra. “I decided to attend because I was attracted to the benefits UST has to offer including small class sizes and the Honors Program.”
After receiving information about the Honors Program, Cassandra thought it sounded like a great opportunity. “I enjoy reading so the chance to read so many great works and discuss them with my professors and classmates was really appealing.”
She recalled the Honors Contemporary Problems Seminar being her favorite class. “I had never met a more eloquent group of people in my life,” she explained. “Even though the Honors program readings, assignments and seminars were by far my biggest academic time commitment, I feel they expanded my horizons and taught me how to think critically.”
Cassandra graduated from UST in 2004 with a BBA in Accounting and an MBA. She has since moved to Austin and is currently working for PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Assurance and Business Advisory Services group. She hopes to work abroad for a couple of years, and then after that? “I am not sure yet what I’ll do in the future,” she said, “but things are going well so far!”
In her spare time, Cassandra enjoys “reading, watching independent films, water activities like rowing and kayaking, traveling, checking out the newest museum exhibits, and going for walks with my husband.” |
