Experience
Sister Madeleine has just completed a six year term as chair of the Department of Theology. She now holds the Scanlan Chair in Theology.
Prior to her service of Chair, she taught Patristics at St. Marys’ Seminary in addition to undergrad courses on the main campus.

Sister Madeleine has been a teacher in Catholic schools all of her professional life. She taught high school at Incarnate Word Academy in addition to other Catholic Schools in the archdiocese for a number of years before going back to receive a Doctorate in Historical Theology from St. Louis U in 1991 and then joining the faculty at UST.

Sister Madeleine is a frequent speaker at parishes in the archdiocese, teaches for the archdiocesan FTCM program and is active within her own Congregation, the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament.

in addition to a number of courses in systematics and scripture

Research Areas
Sister Madeleine enjoys research and writing in the arenas of Historical Theology and Spirituality.

Other Interests
Sister Madeleine gives papers at the American Catholic Historical Society Conference, the International Medieval Conference in Kalamazoo, the Texas Medieval Conference among other groups who spark her interest in Historical Theology and Spirituality. She has published in the Josephinum, American Catholic Studies, Cistercian Studies Quarterly, Diakonai among other journals.
