Registration and Cancellation Overview
Registration is required for all training sessions. Seating is limited to 10-12 participants and is scheduled on a first-come basis. Use the Enroll Now link in the synopsis section to access the online registration form. All enrollment is tracked via the form.
If you register for a session and you cannot attend, please cancel your registration. If you have any questions, please contact the Training coordinator at tsstraining@stthom.edu.
All faculty should start with the Bb 9 Fundamentals session and then select from the additional sessions that meet the individual needs and functions used in your course(s).

Bb 9 Fundamentals - [Enroll Now]
Target Audience: All
This session provides a general overview of the Bb system as implemented at UST. It is designed to provide new and existing faculty with a general understanding of the Bb 9 system basics and tools necessary to assist with teaching and course management. It is the recommended prerequisite to all other sessions listed below.

This session focuses on the discussion board and other communication tools that promote interactivity between instructors and students. Tools covered will include discussion board, journals and blogs. |

Grade Center (2 hour + 1 hour optional) - [Enroll Now]
Target Audience: All
Recommended Prerequisite: Bb 9 Fundamentals
This session provides a general orientation to the grading functions of Bb. It includes adding, deleting, moving, and freezing grade columns, exporting grades to Excel, Adding a Test Student and creating Rubrics. Also you will learn how to create weighted columns and incorporate advanced grading schemes that are available for those who wish to take advantage of these functions.

This session provides an overview of the functions that facilitate interaction between students in group settings. It covers creating groups manually, automatically, and how to use graded assignments within groups. |

Assessment Tools (Testing) - [Enroll Now]
Target Audience: All
Recommended Prerequisite: Bb 9 Fundamentals
This session focuses on creating and deploying tests within the Bb environment. Special attention is given to reviewing the distinctions between tests and surveys, using question pools (randomization), various testing options, and viewing/grading online tests and surveys. |

Recommended Prerequisite: Bb 9 Fundamentals
Do you have a specific question about your Blackboard course? This open-format session provides faculty with guidance and hands-on Blackboard training. Our trainers will work with faculty on a specific problem or to troubleshoot an issue. Please bring any documents, such as the course syllabus, that may need to be uploaded or displayed. Seating is limited to 6 participants for this session. All registering participants should complete the Bb 9 Fundamentals training prior to registering for this session.
