Admission Requirements
Freshmen Admission Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of the GED.
- Cumulative high school grade point average of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher in a minimum of 18 college preparatory units,* including: (*1 unit equals 1 year or 2 semesters)
- Four (4) units of English
- Three (3) units of social science, including one (1) unit of history
- Three (3) units of mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, or calculus)
- Three (3) units of science (including two (2) units of laboratory science)
- Two (2) units of the same foreign language
- Three (3) units of electives in college preparatory classes
- SAT: Math and Critical Reading scores must equal a minimum of 1070, with a minimum score of 460 on each Math and Critical reading.
ACT: composite score of 23 or higher, with a minimum score of 18 on each Math and English.
- High school class rank in the upper 50%, if high school attended ranks graduates.

Transfer Student Admission Requirements
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (on 4.0 scale)
If less than 24 credit hours at the time of application
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher from all colleges/universities previously attended
- High School GPA 2.8 (4.0 scale) or higher
- SAT: Math and Critical Reading scores must equal a minimum of 1070, with a minimum score of 460 on each Math and Critical Reading.(UST's school code for SAT is 6880).
ACT: composite score of 23 or higher, with a minimum score of 18 on each Math and English. (UST’s school code for ACT is 4238).
- Must be eligible to return to the last institution attended

International Student Admission Requirements
- In lieu of ACT/SAT scores, official TOEFL score (or completion of Level 112 through ELS Language Center) may be submitted if first language is not English. SAT scores strongly encouraged.
- Minimum score on paper TOEFL is 550 Internet-based is 79
- IELTS is 6.5
- The UST TOEFL code is 6880.
- Official high school transcripts (and university transcripts for Transfer Students) require translation and evaluation by an independent service that utilizes the placement recommendation of the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Student Credentials.
- Additional forms required by U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service available through the Admissions Office.
