Office for Student Success
The Office for Student Success collaborates with other offices under the divisions of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs.
We assist in the facilitation of programs that promote freshmen-success such as the Mendenhall Summer Institute, the Freshman Symposium and other success-centered programs.
The Mendenhall Summer Institute is a 5-week program for a select group of incoming freshmen with proven academic abilities and involvement in co-curricular activities. This program allows these students to start early on their college education, in addition to having an opportunity to earn a grant for tuition at UST.
The Freshman Symposium is designed to introduce students to the University by focusing on St. Thomas’ mission instill in our students, characteristics such as goodness, discipline and knowledge; and to educate leaders who can think critically, communicate effectively, succeed professionally and , lead ethically.
The combined efforts of these and other programs, close the gap for students desiring a University of St. Thomas education and give underserved youth additional access to higher education and funding.
