Be Safe: Identify Suspicious Packages
The UST safety captains were called into action on April 11 after the campus was evacuated following bomb threats. They were asked to search their areas for suspicious backpacks, brief cases and computer bags. Thankfully, nothing was found.

UST Forms Department for Emergency Preparedness
As a result of the successful completion of the two-year Emergency Management for Higher Education grant last fall, UST established a new operating department: Emergency & Safety Services. The department’s strategic plan and program goals are below:

The University of St. Thomas is committed to the safety and security of all community members and visitors. The University received a $245,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to create a comprehensive plan to develop, review, improve and fully integrate campus-based all-hazards emergency management and business continuity plans. The campus community should “Be Aware, Be Prepared and Take Action!”
