About the Center
Established in 1998, the Center for Business Ethics (CBE) at the University of St. Thomas strives to educate students and the community on making good choices that benefit their businesses and the community at large.
Some of our offerings include:
- Ethical leadership education and symposia
- Conferences on business ethics
- Public lectures
- Co-host the Ethical Leadership in Action Award
- Participate with the Greater Houston Business Ethics Roundtable
The CBE also hosts the Women in Business Forum and the Business Ethics Society, supports the Amom Foundation as its signature program, a non-profit organization founded by a Cameron School of Business MBA alumnus, and participates in the annual President’s Day of Service. |
Dr. Michele Simms, Director
Dr. Michele Simms is Professor in Management and Marketing and the Cullen Endowed Chair and Director of the Center for Business Ethics. She has 23 years of experience as faculty in traditional and non-traditional healthcare, communication and business school programs and nine years as a clinical specialist in adult, pediatric and neonatal cardiac/respiratory care at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Before moving to Houston in 1999, she worked 13 years as a process consultant in executive and leadership development and business ethics with profit and non-profit organizations in business, healthcare and education.
