Northern Ireland Assembly
This site contains information of the Northern Ireland Assembly. The Assembly was established as part of the Good Friday Agreement (also known as the Northern Ireland Peace Agreement and the Belfast Agreement) and meets in Parliament Buildings. The Assembly is the prime source of authority for all devolved responsibilities and has full legislative and executive authority. The Assembly was suspended from midnight on Monday 14 October 2002. The Secretary of State has assumed responsibility for the direction of the Northern Ireland Departments.
