Graduate Program Admission Requirements

Admission to the University of St.Thomas Cameron School of Business Graduate Programs (MBA and MSA) requires the following criteria:
  • Students must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field of study.
  • Admission is based on a combination of Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score and undergraduate grade point average (GPA).
  • Applicants' qualifications are also judged based on three letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources.
  • For applicants holding another graduate degree, (master's or higher) the GMAT requirement is waived.

Additional Requirements for International Students:

  • Submit TOEFL scores. A minimum score of 550 (written), 213 (computer based),80 (internet based) or ELS Level 112 test is required for admission.
  • Academic credentials must be evaluated by Spantran Evaluation Company, an independent evaluation agency.
  • Submit official transcripts and certificate of completion of undergraduate degree to the Cameron School of Business along with $150 fee (cash or check).
  • International students will be required to cover any additional costs such as degree verification or translation services.
  • Provide a statement showing financial support.

This school is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. Candidates from foreign countries will be considered for admission on a fulltime basis only and must plan to earn a degree from UST.
Application materials must include:

  • Application form and a $35 application fee or
  • Online application.
  • Three letters of recommendation from professional or academic sources
  • Official transcript(s)
  • Official GMAT score
  • Official TOEFL score (applicants who have not graduated from an accredited university in the United States must score 80 or higher on the TOEFL IBT)

Application Deadlines
Application materials must be completed and submitted to the Cameron School of Business by the following dates:

Applicants with undergraduate degrees from within the United States
Summer semester: April 7
For fall semester: July 15 
For spring semester: November 3 

International Students
For summer semester: March 30
For fall semester: June 30
For spring semester: October 20

After You are Accepted
After you are accepted you will receive two important documents in the mail.

  1. Your acceptance letter. This will contain your UST student ID number and any conditions of your acceptance (such as prerequisite courses that you need to complete).
  2. Your student record which is your personal program guideline.  

Orientation programs at the University of St. Thomas provide opportunities for students to get to know the University, the faculty and some of their classmates. Our orientation programs are specially designed to provide specific information for new students and to help you register for class.

UST offers several important resources on our Web site for current students. Once you have registered, you can register for class online, access your course schedule and your grades, check the status of your financial aid and review your university account using myStThom. You can check your campus e-mail using Webmail. Blackboard is the course management software you and your instructors will share.
