Happy in her real estate career, Konicki decided to pursue an MBA to reach a personal growth milestone by 2000. At UST, Konicki reconnected with an old friend and MBA classmate who encouraged her to consider a job in the energy industry.

“If Alexandra Blanton hadn’t introduced me to Duke Energy, my life would be very different right now,” Konicki said. “Now after nearly 10 years in the energy industry, I love my job at RBS Sempra Commodities. It allows me to be an entrepreneur and it allows me to be a mother to my 4-year-old twins. You can have a full-time job with a family, and the Cameron School still gives you the flexibility to reach your educational and career goals while you live your life.”

Konicki and her husband, Erik, a 2002 MBA graduate and the CSB Alumni Board president, continue to be involved with the Cameron School.

“One important aspect of being an active alum is networking and meeting different people in different industries,” she said. “There are a lot of very influential people who graduate from this school, and those connections can be mutually beneficial from a business and personal standpoint.”
