Banker Believes in CSB Mission
M.G. Shetty sees the value of a Cameron School of Business education in action every day.
“We have a number of Cameron graduates working at the Bank of Texas, including my assistant,” said Shetty, Senior Vice President and Manager of Structured Trade Finance for Bank of Texas. “These graduates are very smart, hard working, and they are top producers.”
As a member of the Cameron School of Business Advisory Board, Shetty is able to help CSB achieve the mission he so ardently supports.
“Cameron is a unique school with a diverse group of students and faculty,” Shetty said. “As a faith-based institution, CSB combines the need to teach business ethics while teaching students how to compete effectively in the business world. I want to be a part of the team that will work to make UST one of the top tier business schools in the Southwest.”
Shetty became involved with UST in the mid 1980s when the school organized seminars on international trade. He is also president of the nonprofit organization, the Indian Music Society of Houston, which has been performing on campus in Jones and Cullen halls since 1994.
Shetty encouraged alumni to remain active within the Cameron School of Business.
“Students are often inspired by alumni success stories, so alumni participation has a positive effect in attracting and retaining students” he said. “Alumni are in a unique position to serve as spokespersons for the school – to talk about Cameron’s many positive aspects including the standard of education, the ideal location of the school, the engaging faculty, and the student body.” |
