CSB Graduate School to Add New Electives
Dr. Natasha Delcoure said the Cameron School of Business is adding value to graduate degree programs by streamlining the curriculum and offering new specialized electives.

Serving in the dual capacity as CSB’s Academic Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Business Programs, Delcoure, a native of Moscow, Russia, joined the CSB faculty fulltime in August of 2008. In addition to teaching courses in corporate finance, Delcoure is involved in graduate curriculum development and enrollment.

“Our graduate curriculum will reshape itself in fall of 2009 with the edition of new electives such as human resource management – not many schools in the area offer these courses on the graduate level,” Delcoure said. “We are also working on developing a sustainability elective that addresses issues of social responsibility, ethical behavior and going green on the corporate level – all the challenges that corporate America is facing today. These are the types of courses that separate our graduate program from many schools in the area and throughout the country.”

All of these additions, she said, help CSB stay ahead of the curve to offer the Houston business community the opportunity to develop and perfect skills which are in high demand.

Despite the current economic climate, Delcoure said many people find this to be a beneficial time to enroll in an MBA program to enhance their employment opportunities.

“The economy goes through cycles, and it’s not going to last forever,” she said. “The economy will recover, but it will require a skilled workforce. To stay competitive, you look ahead, and try to position yourself strategically for the future. For many people it’s coming back to school to increase their job skills.”
