Alumni Networking Reception
CSB Dean Dr. Bahman Mirshab along with panelists Professor John Whitney, Kim Cauthorn, Diane Delgado LeMarie ’06 and Don Sweat. What could possibly bring more than 200 Cameron School of Business alumni together in one room? Well, networking of course. On Sept. 1, 2009, the Cameron School of Business and its Alumni Board of Directors held a networking reception and panel discussion on the UST campus.

CSB alumni and current students gathered to listen to three experts discuss the topic of the evening, How is the Economy Affecting the Job Market in Houston and Beyond? moderated by Kim Cauthorn, president of Cauthorn Consulting. Panelists included Diane Delgado Lamaire of Creative Financial Solutions and a 2006 MBA graduate of the Cameron School, Don Sweat of the Galleria Chamber of Commerce and Professor John Whitney of the Cameron School of Business.

CSB professors Dr. Beena George and Dr. Cristian Morosan required their graduate classes to attend the event to provide networking opportunities with CSB alumni and learn about current business topics that could be applied to their current studies.

The event, sponsored by El Paso Corporation, provided alumni and students a wonderful opportunity to extend their professional network and expand their knowledge of the current economic crisis.

Networking Happy Hour
On Sept. 24, 2009, an evening of great food, drinks and networking was held thanks to our generous sponsor Americas and CSB alumnus Fred Espinoza ’03. Espinoza, vice president for sales and marketing for the Cordua Restaurants, invited the Cameron School of Business to hold its first networking happy hour of the school year at the Post Oak eatery.

More than 80 CSB alumni including Habeeb Gnaim ’00, Karen Yale ’05 and Mari Salazar ’95 enjoyed networking with their fellow CSB alums and giving advice to current Cameron School graduate students.
