This issue of Cameron Connections, Dean Dr. Bahman Mirshab discusses major initiatives of the Cameron School including an update on the AACSB accreditation and the Raye White Cameron School of Business Endowed Scholarship Fund. CSB has launched a new Alumni Mentoring Program and for the fourth consecutive year, CSB Alumni Week will welcome back more than 85 alumni. The CSB Advisory Board of Directors will host an event on April 28 along with the Center for Business Ethics about entrepreneurial ethics.

Join us at CSB events where you will have the opportunity to network with other alumni and future students. On Feb. 25, we invite you to "Fight for Freedom," a Black History Month event featuring recently exonerated death row inmate Anthony Graves. This year also brings the fourth Annual Alumni Week in March. We look forward to hosting two Alumni Social Hours and three Graduate Open Houses during the spring semester. We are happy to announce for the 28th consecutive year, more than 50 CSB accounting students, alumni and volunteers are providing free tax preparation through the IRS VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program) this spring.

Educational Benchmark Inc. (EBI) will survey 500 CSB alumni this spring. The brief survey will allow undergraduate and graduate alumni to express their opinions on events they would like to attend, and describe how the CSB education program prepares students for the business world. Please help make your alma mater a better place by responding to this survey. Participants are eligible to win one of three iPods.

| CSB Alumni Mentorship Program: Paving the Way for Success |

The CSB Alumni Board of Directors enjoyed a successful kickoff event for the inaugural Spring 2011 CSB Alumni Mentorship Program. The program’s goal is to provide CSB students with opportunities to build relationships with CSB alumni. The program is focused on career development, goal setting, networking and other skill sets that are important for students to jump start a successful career.

| Med Center VP Shares Expertise with Cameron Advisory Board |

Kevin Ilges, a Senior Vice President of the Texas Medical Center, volunteers his time to serve on the University of St. Thomas Cameron School of Business Advisory Board. Ilges sees the direct correlation between the need for a well-educated work force and business graduates who are trained in the ethical foundations of business leadership. Over the span of his career, Ilges said his admiration of the University of St. Thomas grew out of positive interaction with UST alumni.
