The Chair of the Department of Mathematics, Professor Michael R. Colvin, has served the Department since January, 2002. He received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Houston, Houston, Texas in 1976. After three years on the faculty at Louisiana State University - Baton Rouge, Dr. Colvin was a member of the Department of Mathematics at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo in central California. Students interested in majoring in either Mathematics or the Department's Cooperative Engineering Program are encouraged to contact Dr. Colvin's office.
