Find Out for Yourself: Visit UST
Visit the University of St. Thomas CamapusThe best way to find about the University of St. Thomas is to visit us in person.

If you’re a future student, the Admissions Office can design a visit to fit your needs, or you may take advantage of visitation days planned just for prospective students. During your planned visit you may stay with a fellow student in our state-of-the-art residence hall; visit with a professor in your area of academic interest; or conduct a personal interview with an admissions counselor to review your academic credentials. You can get all of your questions answered about the admissions process, scholarships and financial aid as well as having a UST student take you on a tour of our campus. You are also welcome to sit in on a class, talk with sponsors or students involved in the student activities you’re interested in and be our guest for lunch with a UST student. To make an appointment for a visit call 1-800-856-8565 or email admissions@stthom.edu.

Community visitors are always welcome on campus. Each year the University opens it doors to thousands of visitors who attend our free lectures, concerts, plays and exhibits. Others visit the University to view its outstanding architecture. The University’s administration building, Link Lee Mansion, occupies a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The award-winning Campus Life Mall is a place to congregate, socialize, study and reflect in the various gardens. The beautification of the campus enhances the wonderful transformation of our neighborhood campus into a true academic village in the heart of Houston, the fourth largest metropolitan area in America. All of these structures support the original concept expressed in the Academic Mall by the late, great architect Philip Johnson concept.

Johnson’s legacy is finalized in the last major project in the Mall that comes after more than half a century of campus development according to the original Johnson campus master plan. His magnificent Chapel of St. Basil is a stunning architectural achievement in the heart of the campus. One of Johnson’s last designs stands as an aesthetic landmark on the corner of Montrose and West Alabama. Named in memory of one of the University’s most dedicated benefactors, the planned Edward P. White Memorial Plaza featuring the Johnson monument gives the University and Houston a work of public art befitting the University’s geographical position as the northern gateway to the Houston Museum District.
