The campus community should BE AWARE of the precautions to take when dealing with suspicious activity. Check out the tips below to see how to handle each situation.
In the Event of a Suspicious Package:
•If visible, DO NOT HANDLE THE OBJECT.
•Immediately call Campus Security at 713-525-3888.
• Security will contact the local authorities.
•Quickly evacuate. Do not touch or move anything in the room.
•Stay as far away from the building as possible, at least 300 feet.
•Do not return to an evacuated building unless told to do so by a University official.
Suspicious People
Be alert to strangers in your office or residential area.
If you encounter an intruder, immediately call campus security at 713-525-3888.
If you observe a crime in progress or suspect criminal behavior, call 9-1-1.
Do not approach or attempt to apprehend the person(s) involved.
