UST Launches Mobile Safety App

The University of St. Thomas launched the UST Safety App with emergency preparedness resources for the University community. The free app is available in the Apple App Store for iPhone 5iPhone 4iPad and Google Play for Android phones

Tips to Respond in 20 Types of Emergencies

From an active shooter, fire or bomb threat to concerning behavior or flooding, the UST Safety App provides tips for responding to 20 types of emergencies. See the “What to Do” section for instructions like a hurricane kit list. Review the information in advance of an emergency to be prepared.

Maps and Buildings

If there’s an emergency in your building do you know what address to give emergency responders? Under “Maps/Building Addresses” see the addresses for campus buildings and click to see the location on Google Maps. There is also a link to the UST Interactive Map with photos and parking information.

The UST Safety App has a link to the Ready site with news, events and resources for emergency preparedness. See the UST safety videos, download the pocket reference guide and take the quiz.

In addition to important phone numbers for campus offices, the “Resources” section also includes information for the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, the Red Cross, Weather.com and more.

UST Security Dialer to Call for an Escort or Report an Issue

Call UST Secruity

If you don’t already have the number for Campus Security programmed into your phone, the UST Security Dialer button will call the Security staff directly. Call Security to request an escort to your car late at night or report a suspicious issue.
