ROTC Graduates Prepare to Serve Country

While many University of St. Thomas class of 2011 graduates ponder graduate school and job searches, Alan Llanas and Linh Tran have a job waiting for them. They stepped off the stage ready to serve their country. As cadets in the UST Reserve Officers Training Corp (ROTC), Llanasí and Tranís post-graduation plans are all laid out.

 
UST Joins Red River Athletic Conference
The University of St. Thomas Athletic Department has accepted an invitation to become the newest member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Red River Conference. The Celts will compete for conference championships during the 2011-2012 school year in volleyball, menís soccer, menís & womenís basketball and menís and womenís golf.
 
MLA Program Offers Freedom, Flexibility, Choice

UST Hosts Summer Social Justice Conference
Church globalization, Catholic social teaching, immigration, death penalty and abortion Ė all of these compelling contemporary issues in social justice will be examined at the University of St. Thomasí Rev. William J. Young Social Justice Summer Conference from Thursday-Friday, June 9-10.
 
Fr. Brannen Speaks On Vocational Discernment
Father Brett A. Brannen, author of To Save a Thousand Souls, will speak about vocational discernment at his lecture ďTo Set the World on Fire.Ē The event, hosted by the University of St. Thomas and the Serra Club of Houston, will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 17, in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum.
 
Music Preparatory School Hosts Summer Camps

Summer is the perfect time for young students to begin learning a musical instrument or improve their musical skills. The University of St. Thomas Music Preparatory School is offering three music camps for grades three through 12 this summer. Camps include instruction in acoustic and electric guitar, electric bass, piano and strings. There is still time to register young, aspiring musicians for these summer camps.

UST Exceeds National Hispanic Graduation Rate

A study of national college graduation data by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) reveals that the University of St. Thomas exceeds the national graduation rate among Hispanic students. USTís Hispanic graduation rate also outpaces all Catholic universities in Texas.
