Veteran Finds Home at UST

As Veteran’s Day approaches, Marcus Walden, a 27-year-old veteran of the U.S. Navy, shares his experience as a freshman. Walden, a believer in educating the whole person and teaching children about the origin of foods, recognizes UST for helping him pursue the next chapter in his life.

Arts Society Tea Supports Scholarships

The UST Performing Arts Society will kick off its membership year with the Membership Tea from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 6 at a private River Oaks residence. At the tea, members will have an opportunity to renew their membership, mingle and listen to talented UST singers perform. All proceeds benefit scholarships for music and drama students at St. Thomas. RSVP is required.

Gala Fundraises, Celebrates Irish Studies

The William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies will hold the Irish Gala at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Houstonian Hotel. The gala, with a delicious dinner, lively entertainment and auctions, raises funds for the Center’s academic programs and study abroad scholarships to Ireland.
