Suicide Prevention Week
All day from Monday, September 9, 2013 to Saturday, September 14, 2013 | Campus Mall

Counseling & Disability Services will sponsor a visual display entitled “Don’t Sit in Silence” for National Suicide Prevention week. On September 9, 105 empty chairs will be placed on the campus mall to represent the number of suicides that occur in the United States each day. On the chairs will be messages of hope, crisis and suicide hotline numbers, warning signs of suicide and resources for seeking help.

How to Get Along with Your Professors and Mentors

This workshop will highlight good classroom habits and reasons why these strengthen your connection to faculty and improve mentor relationships. Dr. Ric Montelongo, Director for Student Success, will offer guidance and advice from his experience as an instructor and mentor.
