Richard Nunemaker and Friends Concert
Tuesday, November 15, 2011 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Faculty member, symphony musician, concert soloist, recording artist, producer, educator and author Richard Nunemaker teams up with Trio Oriens and the Meridian Ensemble to present the Brahms Clarinet Quintet op. 115 and Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time.

The Meridian is a small group of Houston’s superb professional musicians. The artists hail from three continents, different cultures and different backgrounds but their coming together represents the effort to promote passion for music and art and the values they represent.

Meridian Ensemble’s concerts always include educational and fun talks highlighting the background of the pieces performed. Their performances have been widely attended and praised as some of the most powerful intimate art events in Houston.

The Trio Oriens draws together three outstanding musicians from the island nation of Taiwan. Debut in the spring of 2010, they soon became one of the most active chamber ensembles in Houston area. Recognized for their intelligent artistry, Trio Oriens brings innovative programs and diverse repertoire to their audiences. Trio Oriens focuses on a historically informed approach to classical period works, Taiwanese/ Chinese music, Latin American and contemporary compositions.
