Reception for Bulgaria’s Leading Semiotician, Professor Ivan Mladenov

Library Reception to honor Bulgaria’s leading semiotician Professor Ivan Mladenov, Visiting Fulbright Professor
This will be an informal “wine & cheese” gathering in the Doherty Library Lobby to honor Professor Mladenov’s visit to UST and to highlight the participation of UST faculty and students in last October’s meeting of the Semiotic Society of America.
The SSA event, which was sponsored by our University, has resulted in a Proceedings volume of 1,051 pages from that event, Semiotics 2008, has now been published. The volume, along with Professor Mladenov’s recent major volume on semiotics and C. S. Peirce, will be on display at the reception, with copies of Semiotics 2008 to be given gratis at the reception to UST faculty and students who were participants at the October 2008 event.
At 4:30 there will be informal remarks by Dr. John Deely from the philosophy department, Dr. Dominic Aquila, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and our Fulbright visitor Dr. Ivan Mladenov.
