Learn to Thrive at UST During Orientation

As a new student arriving in August, you’ll be welcomed by more than 30 Orientation student volunteers! They are here for you—to help you move in, answer any questions, and of course, show you around the beautiful campus. Try something new, form new friendships, and discover all that UST has to offer.

Help the Community at Houston Food Bank Service Project

Orientation week includes dozens of fun-filled events, from Club Fair to the Houston Food Bank service project. Last year, new students made 28,000 meals for the community.  There are also plenty of opportunities for you to get acquainted with campus resources and offices at Orientation.

Make Memories at UST

Orientation is the time to make memories that you will fondly recall in the years to come—like making your own UST tie-dye T-shirt.  St. Thomas is a community with tremendous possibilities, and as you embark on this journey, remember that Orientation is only the beginning.

Freshman Symposium

Start your first St. Thomas class during Orientation. Freshman Symposium begins on Friday, and you’ll be assigned to sections with students who share your educational interests and goals. Freshman Symposium introduces students to UST’s mission and how to be successful in college and in your profession.

Freshmen & Parent Orientation Opportunities
All freshmen students are invited to campus for an orientation program designed specifically for their needs. Freshmen, Transfer, & Graduate Orientation programs are directed to the individual student, and specific information concerning academic programs is shared. Many University offices are present for all of the orientations.
