Recognizing Suspicious Activity

Suspicious Activity
The UST community should BE AWARE of the precautions to take when dealing with suspicious activity.

In the Event of a Suspicious Package:

  • If visible, DO NOT HANDLE THE OBJECT.
  • Immediately call the UST Police Department at 713-525-3888.
  • Quickly evacuate. Do not touch or move anything in the room.
  • Stay as far away from the building as possible, at least 300 feet.
  • Do not return to an evacuated building unless told to do so by a University official.
 
Suspicious Person(s):
  • Be alert to strangers in your office, residential area, or as you walk around campus.
  • If you encounter a suspicious person(s), immediately call the UST Police Department at 713-525-3888.
  • If you observe a crime in progress or suspect criminal behavior, call UST Police Department.
  • Do not approach or attempt to apprehend the person(s) involved.
