St. Thomas Promise

The University of St. Thomas is proud to offer the St. Thomas Promise program to incoming undergraduate* students who meet the following eligibility: 

• Incoming first-time college students with 3.4 or higher grade point average who are from families with annual incomes of $50,000 or less 

• Student must be a Texas resident and must complete the FAFSA form and be eligible for federal and state financial aid 

OR 

• Incoming transfer student with 3.5 or higher transfer GPA who are from families with annual incomes of $50,000 or less 

• Student must be a Texas resident and must complete the FAFSA form and be eligible for federal and state financial aid 

There is no application for St. Thomas Promise, but students must apply for admission and be admitted (with a FAFSA form on file) by February 1 (first year students) or by April 1 (transfer students.) 

The St. Thomas Promise is renewable for up to four years, provided family income remains in the same qualifying range. St. Thomas Promise awards will cover full tuition and regular fees.  It does not cover special course fees, parking fee, books, housing, or meal plans. 

*Student in ABSN, Pre ABSN or Transfer ABSN do not qualify for St. Thomas Promise 

*Students in joint degree programs may qualify for St. Thomas Promise for four of the five years that it normally takes to complete undergraduate and graduate degree.  The award does not cover graduate courses.
